STEPHEN K. SMITH. Position: Of Counsel. Steve is admitted to practice in
Arizona, the U.S.
Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the
District of Arizona, the U.S. Supreme Court, and the Navajo Nation and Hopi
Tribal Courts. Steve attended Graceland College and Western Illinois
University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1964. Steve then
obtained a Masters degree in education at Indiana University in 1967. Steve
obtained his J.D. from Arizona State University, magna cum
laude, in 1975. Steve then served as an instructor at the Arizona State
University, College of Education, teaching Law and Higher Education, from 1979-1984. Steve was the President of the
Coconino County Bar Association in 1993 and is a
member of the State Bar of Arizona, the Navajo Nation Bar Association, the
National Association of College and University Attorneys, and the National
Council of School Attorneys. Steve emphasizes in the practice areas of Employment
Law, Charter School Law, Education, and Tribal Law.
